CARE Project Regional Associate


1) Family Support - The CARE Project Regional Associate for Pittsburgh will monitor CARE Project funding inquiries, schedule and hold interviews with families, present cases to the rest of the STLP team, obtain and organize documentation related to family finances and demonstrated need, liaise with families about pending cases, and oversee and/or execute the disbursement of funds to families. The CARE Project Regional Associate for Pittsburgh will jointly partake in all of the above responsibilities with the rest of the CARE Project team, including the CARE Project Director and CARE Project Regional Supervisors (3 individuals). Tasks in which the CARE Project Regional Associate will be solely responsible include any in-person trips within the Pittsburgh area with regard to families, including mailing checks/packages, buying groceries, or distributing resources directly to families.

2) Events - CARE Project Regional Associate will also help plan, organize, and oversee CARE Project events within the city of Pittsburgh, and ensure they align with STLP’s mission and effectively meet community needs. The Associate will coordinate with local volunteers, partners, and board members to execute successful events that positively impact families and children.

3) Fundraising - CARE Project Regional Associate will assist in local fundraising efforts by identifying potential donors and promoting fundraising efforts within the Pittsburgh community. The Associate will collaborate with the marketing team to create compelling narratives and impact reports that showcase the CARE Project's work in Pittsburgh.

Qualifications - The CARE Project Regional Associate for Pittsburgh must:

● Be 18 years of age or older

● Be based in Pittsburgh, PA

● Have access to a car

● Be proficient in Word and Excel

● Demonstrate excellent communication skills

● Demonstrate excellent organizational skills

● Demonstrate emotional intelligence and empathy when handling sensitive issues

● Be able to meet reasonable deadlines

● Attend weekly meetings

● NOT REQUIRED BUT RECOMMENDED - Have working proficiency in a language besides English

Compensation - This position is a volunteer position.

Commitment - 2-3 hours per week, including a ~1 hour weekly meeting on Sunday mornings
